Keystone Energy ensures effective conversion of waste into torrefied biomass and torrefied MSW for industrial fuel applications with the help of torrefaction technology. This process is a kind of advanced thermochemical process that produces high-energy solid fuels like green coal, biochar, and waste-to-charcoal from biomass, Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), RDF, and STP sludge in waste to energy systems.

Keystone Energy Systems LLP has developed torrefaction reactor technology, which operates at temperatures between 200 and 320°C in a controlled and low-oxygen environment. The process requires the removal of moisture and volatile substances to increase the fuel's energy density, grindability, and storage stability.

Our technology (patent application# 202211023704 & 202211023710) can convert any combination of MSW, RDF, Agro Waste and STP Sludge to a dry, brittle and carbon rich product with a calorific value of 4,000 Kcal/Kg known as Green Coal.

Torrefaction Applications in Waste to Energy

Biomass Torrefaction

It is a conversion of agricultural and organic biomass into torrefied biomass and biochar to produce high-calorific solid fuel that acts as a sustainable carbon source used in various industrial applications.

MSW Torrefaction

This process converts municipal solid waste into green coal and torrefied MSW, which reduces the dependency on landfills and also permits co-firing in thermal power plants.

RDF Torrefaction

In this thermal upgrading process, low-grade reduced derived fuel (RDF) turns into high-energy green coal. However, the torrefied RDF has been adopted by many industries to achieve carbon-neutral goals.

Sludge Torrefaction

The sludge torrefaction process helps in increasing the calorific value of STP sludge and makes it suitable for industrial use by turning it into a high-energy solid fuel.

Our National Green Tribunal (NGT) approved, completely automated innovative green technology converts MSW to Synthesis Gas, which is used as fuel in Gas Engines and Turbines to generate Green Electricity.

Credentials

Our Gasification technology has been studied and approved by NGT appointed committee with experts from National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Ministry of Environment & Forest (MoEF) and other technical & administrative experts.

In 2017 NGT approved for implementation of 500 TPD Waste to Green Electricity plant in Srinagar.
